Choteau, Montana Real Estate For Sale: 2 Bucks' Inc.

Welcome to Choteau, Montana, the Gateway to the Rocky Mountain Front. Come enjoy Montana’s blue skies and clean air in this quintessential Western Montana town just 20 miles east of the Rocky Mountains. Come see all this community has to offer from its striking views of the Rocky Mountains, its’ rich agricultural history, abundant wildlife, endless recreational opportunities and friendly, hospitable residents.

Located in Teton County, Choteau’s outdoor recreational opportunities are endless. Flathead National Forest, Glacier National Park, the Rocky Mountain Division of Lewis and Clark National Forest, Bob Marshall Wilderness, Freezeout Lake and the Teton River are all nearby.

Hunting along the Rocky Mountain Front is truly exceptional, whether you are looking for that trophy elk, mountain lion, or mule deer the Choteau area has it all. There are local outfitters ready to take you on a guided hunt, or you can hunt on your own in the thousands of acres of public lands. Teton County also has a substantial population of upland birds making it excellent bird hunting country. If Fishing is at the top of your sportsman’s list, try fly fishing the upper forks of the Teton River where there are plentiful rainbow, cutthroat and brook trout populations. Hunting and fishing opportunities on public and private land are numerous.

Just a short drive from Choteau lies Freezeout Lake. Owned by Montana, Fish, Wildlife & Parks, this 11,350 acre wildlife management area attracts more than a million birds each year. Tundra swans, snow geese, and 200 other migrating species start in mid-March to use the lake as a staging point, while they wait for nature’s traffic control system to indicate that their far northern destinations are open for feeding and breeding. People travel from far and wide to watch this amazing wildlife phenomenon each year.

Winter sports are also very popular around Teton County. You can head Alpine and backcountry skiing on Teton Pass or snowshoe off one of the many trails located off the North Fork Teton Road. If motorized sporting is more your style, head to the West Fork Teton trailhead for some spectacular snowmobile trips.

The nearby Rocky Mountain Front and Bob Marshall Wilderness offer great trail riding either for the day or for the week. You can bring your horses and camp out on a “Bob” adventure through the beautiful western Rocky Mountains or check out local guest ranch opportunities and outfitters to help guide you.

To satisfy your cultural tastes, Choteau has some incredible attractions including the Old Trail Museum and Two Medicine Dinosaur Center. At the Old Trail Museum you can explore Montana’s rich natural and cultural history by exploring fossils, Native American artifacts and grizzly bears. Then, hop on over to the Two Medicine Dinosaur Center and get your hands dirty with a museum that allows and even encourages you to participate with paleontological digs. You can also learn more about Montana’s state dinosaur, Maiasaura peeblesorum, who lived with her young just west of Choteau.

While Choteau offers everything an outdoor enthusiast could ever want, living each day in this friendly community is just as satisfying. Evening walks on the Choteau Walking Path, day hikes along the Rocky Mountain Front, golfing at the 9 hole golf course that has some of the best views in the world and watching a movie with your family at the local Roxy Theater are just a few more things to add to your list of advantages of moving to a one of a kind community like Choteau, Montana.
